About the Library

Our Library's Purpose

The purpose of the Moon Mountain School Library is to support our students' education as lifelong learners and readers by putting resources in the hands of students and the school community, encouraging students to read, teaching students the skills necessary to evaluate information and encouraging student responsibility.

Guidelines and Expectations

All students are expected to listen and follow directions while visiting our Library!

Circulation Guidelines

Head Start and Preschool students select one book from a selection of books on the tables before learning how to select books from the shelves. They keep their books in the classroom while learning how to take care of books.

Kindergarten students choose one book from our Picture Book section of the library.

First Grade students choose two books; one book from the Picture Books and one book from the Non-Fiction section of the library.

Second through Sixth Grade students have access to all areas of the library where they are expected to use the Five Finger Rule to select one Fiction book and one Non-Fiction book.

Parents may check out up to five books at a time to have reading time at home with their children.  Please stop in the library to set up a parent account.

All books are to due prior to their next library visit.  If a student hasn't finished reading their books they may bring them to the library to renew their books one time.
